Potsdamer Platz

Completely destroyed during WWII, Potsdamer Platz today is the most famous square in Berlin. A city within the city, Potsdamer Platz is full of modern buildings, shops, and cinemas.

Potsdamer Platz was one of the busiest squares of Europe before WWII. However, it became ruins after bombing. Only in the 1990s there was a decision to redevelop the place and to construct a new square. The imposing Debis Tower, designed by Renzo Piano, was the first building on a new square.

Today Potsdamer Platz boasts many nice buildings including Sony Centre, Filmmuseum Berlin, Potsdamer Platz Arkaden, Cinemaxx and other.
