Reichstag, the seat of the Bundestag, the German Parliament, is Berlin's best known landmark. This symbol of Berlin can be visited by tourists who can walk all the way to the top of the famous dome.
Reichstag was erected in 1884–94 by Paul Wallot as the proud manifestation of the power of the German Reich. This imposing neo-renaissance building was 137m long and 97m wide.
The building suffered from fire in 1933 and was bombed during World War II. Reichstag was completely reconstructed by 1999. And today this is again the seat of the Bundestag.
