Zitadelle Spandau

Zitadelle Spandau is the only example of this type of fortification north of the Alps. The moat-surrounded citadel dates back to the 1500s. The Juliusturm, a romantic Italian-style tower, is one of the oldest surviving structures in Berlin. It dates back to the 1200s.
